Board of Trustees

 

The Acorn Foundation Board of Trustees (all voluntary positions) comprises up to nine Trustees, of whom: 
  • One is appointed by the Mayor of Tauranga City Council
  • One is appointed by the Mayor of Western BOP District Council
  • Two are appointed by the Waikato/Bay of Plenty District Law Society
  • One is appointed by the Tauranga Chamber of Commerce
  • Up to four are appointed by the other Acorn Board Trustees
 
Sally Morrison

Acorn Chair
Sally has lived in Tauranga since 1977, owning the Oakland Hospital for most of this time. She sold Oakland's in 2007. Sally has been a Rotary Trustee to the Arts Festival for 10 years. Her other passions include interior design and helping in leper hospitals in Vietnam. Sally was awarded  Business Leader of the Year by the Tauranga Chamber of Commerce in 2006.

 

 

Tracy Rea

Director, Wood Walton Chartered Accountants

Tracy is a director of  Wood Walton Chartered Accountants. Her specialist skills are in business planning, valuation and restructuring. Tracy says "A life well lived should always include a significant contribution to the community."
 
 
 
Ross Paterson

Mayor, Western Bay of Plenty District Council

Ross Paterson is the Mayor of the Western Bay of Plenty District Council. Ross has been involved in dairying, kiwifruit, deer farming and flower exporting, as well as property development. He is married to Robyn and they have 3 adult children.
 
Jan Hickson

Jan Hickson is a fourth generation family member to live in Tauranga.  She has been involved with many community projects, such as the Garden & Arts Festival and Tauranga Girls College.  She lives in Papamoa and has one beautiful daughter. Jan is delighted to be part of the Acorn Foundation, an energetic organisation giving back to our community.

 

 
Matt Tustin

Partner, Cooney Lees Morgan

Matt grew up in the Bay of Plenty and and was made a partner at Cooney Lees Morgan in 2008, working in the commercial team.  He is married to Rita and lives in Mount Maunganui with four young children.   Matt really enjoys living in the Bay of Plenty and tries to make the most of the wonderful environment that we are fortunate enough to live in.  When time permits he chases snapper (not very successfully!).
Carolyn Port

Carolyn has skills in sales and marketing and has a huge passion and determination for whatever she takes on. Carolyn and her husband Rob have had a number of successful businesses in Tauranga, including Greerton Furnishings.  They have established their own fund with the Acorn Foundation to assist young people to reach their sporting goals.

 

 

Richard Cashmore

Managing Director, Realty Group

Richard is the Managing Director of the Realty Group, a real estate-based company incorporating Eves Realty, Bayleys and Rothbury Finance and Insurance group.
A Tauranga resident for over 30 years Richard has been active in many aspects of the community. He is a former board member of Priority One, former Chairman of Tauranga and Bay of Plenty Golf and former Chairman of Bay of Plenty Rugby. He sees his involvement with Acorn as an opportunity to give a little back to a wonderful region.
 
Glenn Keaney

Glenn is a partner at KPMG in Tauranga, and is also on the board of Priority One. With his experience in auditing, Glenn kindly performs audits free of charge to many local charities and non-profit organisations.
