Acorn Foundation's committment to our community was recognised at the 2011 Westpac Tauranga Business Awards on 4th November. Acorn received the award for Community Organisation of the Year at the gala dinner held at the new TECT Arena at Baypark Stadium. Acorn's deputy Chair Tracy Rea briefly shared the Acorn story with the 500 guests who included Tauranga Mayor Stuart Crosby, and MPs Tony Ryall and Simon Bridges.

2003
- Acorn Foundation established. First donor fund set up.
2005
- Appointed as regional Fund Manager for the Tindall Foundation.
2006
- First $1 million in donor funds invested
2007
- First Acorn distributions of $65,000.
- Supported the establishment of the Legacy Trust, which saw the ownership transfer of a local funeral home business for the benefit of the community, an effective gift in excess of $2 million.
2010
- Celebrated Acorn's first 100 donor funds, with the Prime Minister as the guest speaker at the celebration event.
- Anonymous donation of $300,000 to acknowledge this milestone.
- $4 million in donor funds invested.
2011
- First $1m distributed since Acorn’s inception.
- $6m funds under management.
