Kiri Diamond
Kiri Diamond has a passion for strengthening communities and schools. Her desire to see the next generation be all that they can be has led her to further her own education as an adult student. Kiri is studying for a Bachelor of Social Sciences at the Waikato University Tauranga Campus,
majoring in Psychology and Educational Studies, and is the 2012 winner of the Eva Trowbridge Scholarship.
Kiri has been involved in her local community in various ways including developing and delivering a values-based programme for the children in the Whanau unit at Maungatapu School, managing and refereeing various children's sports teams, serving as a Board of Trustee member at Tauranga Intermediate, and serving as an advisor for Group Special Education and 3D Health Services. All of this had been done while caring for her sick mother, raising her own children and also now raising her nephew. Principal of Tga Intermediate Brian Diver says "Kiri is an example of a young New Zealander trying her best to improve herself and the community in which she resides."
