Outward Bound Scholarship
Ros Granger set up a fund with the Acorn Foundation to honour her husband, Bob Granger. Outward Bound had been a huge part of Bob’s life since 1962. Now the passion that Bob Granger had for Outward Bound lives on every year, through Acorn Foundation scholarships that assist local young people to go to Outward Bound.
The first recpient of a scholarship was Tauranga girl Leanne Smith, who said this upon her return from Outward Bound:
“A few months have passed and I am still thriving from my journey where I spent three long, cold, challenging and mind blowing weeks, which brought motivation, satisfaction, respect and an open mind to the world we live in.
Without the help and support of people like you, students and members of the community do not get to take up opportunities such as this”
