Tauranga Youth Search and Rescue
In 2010 the full contingent of the initial intake of 17 young people returned to undertake Year 2 training. In addition, another 18 students have been recruited to commence their first year of training.
The first group assisted police with three searches, resulting in the safe recovery of 2 missing persons. In addition, they assisted with the high profile missing father-of-two "Newman" cold case search, in Katikati in November 2009.
