Acorn Foundation's committment to our community was recognised at the 2011 Westpac Tauranga Business Awards on 4th November. Acorn received the award for Organisation of the Year at the gala dinner held at the new TECT Arena at Baypark Stadium. Acorn's deputy Chair Tracy Rea briefly shared the Acorn story with the 500 guests who included Tauranga Mayor Stuart Crosby, and MPs Tony Ryall and Simon Bridges.

Ways to give
Donations In Your Will.
Funds over $50,000 become a Named Fund, with associated privileges, namely:
- You can choose which charities receive annual distributions from your Named Fund.
- Annual reporting to fund holder/executor
Donations During Your Lifetime
- Donations during your lifetime will qualify for a 33.3% tax credit.
- Any donation of $5000 or more will be added to the General Fund and tracked in the name of the donor. Once the fund reaches $50,000, Named Fund privileges will apply.
- Any donation under $5000 is welcome and will be added to the General Fund.
Private Charitable Trusts
- If you have a charitable trust (or are considering establishing one) talk to Acorn about how we can help. Acorn can assist with compliance requirements, future Trustee succession planning and asset transfers for your Trust fund.
Establishment Donations
- We encourage donors setting up their fund to make a one-off donation of $5000 which goes towards the operating expenses of the Acorn Foundation, allowing us to administer their fund in the first instance, continue to build the profile of the Foundation and encourage other potential donors to set up a fund. In other words, these establishment donations allow us to continue the daily work of the Acorn Foundation. This donation will qualifiy for a 33.3% tax credit.
