Acorn Foundation Dale Carnegie Youth Programme
27 Acorn Foundation Dale Carnegie 2018 Youth Programme scholarship winners received their graduation certificates on 5 July. Students from eight Western Bay of Plenty colleges were celebrated at an event that included their families and school representatives following their three-day course. The programme criteria include leadership potential, a strong work ethic and an open-minded attitude towards trying new things, and it enables the students who are selected to learn valuable new skills and improve their confidence.

Outward Bound Scholarship Event
On 26 July, the Acorn team and donors celebrated 14 students from 7 colleges in the Western and Eastern Bay of Plenty who completed the Tangaroa Watch course at Outward Bound in May. Five Acorn donors, plus other local supporters, fund this programme each year. We want to send a big thank you to Tauranga Mayor Greg Brownless for coming along to help us congratulate these fantastic students on accomplishing such a challenging, life-changing programme!
