Join us for morning tea and learn more about your community

We have another fabulous line up of speakers at our annual Acorn Supporters & Friends Function coming up on Saturday 25 July, kicking off with morning tea from 10.30am. 

Speakers include:

• Bay Conservation Alliance: Supporting eight conservation based organisations in the Bay of Plenty, BCA has developed a nature education programme being run at Otanewainuku Forest and Aongatete Forest.  Michelle Elborn and Brian Ireland will talk more about this programme and its impact .

• Baywide Community Law started its first free housing advocacy clinic in Sept 2017, assisting vulnerable people and families with extreme housing issues.   Sincere passion and commitment shine through when lawyer Shard Loibl talks of the clients he is working with daily to assist them through the current housing crisis;

• Tautoko Mai Sexual Harm Support recently appointed Julie Sach to the position of Societal Change and Quality Assurance Leader.  Julie has been working hard to drive change in the community by building greater awareness of the issues of sexual and family violence; and

• Books A Plenty’s Chris Baskett will talk about being a judge at this year's NZ Book Awards and the Jann Medlicott Acorn Prize for Fiction winning book Aue.
