Parewhati (Pare), MP support for Tamati Coffey, is a recent addition to the Acorn Distributions Committee and brings with her a wealth of knowledge and insight into the Tangata Whenua and Mana Whenua landscape in the WBOP.
Governance experience includes: previous Trustee for the Ngai Te Ahi Raupatu Settlement Trust, and current Trustee for the Ngai Tukairangi Hapu Trust. Pare is also Associate Trustee of Ongare Trust which owns two kiwifruit orchards north of Katikati.
Pare is passionate about Raranga, or Māori Weaving, and was previously the Community Cultural Advisor at Creative BOP, coordinating and curating community art exhibitions in the community gallery on Willow Street. She has also taught courses as part of the Certificate in Māori Art at Toi Ohomai and continues to curate and coordinate exhibitions and events.
