Dorothea Strauss, Winner of the 2018 Acorn Foundation Eva Trowbridge Scholarship
A driving passion for helping to give young children the very best start in life led Dorothea Strauss to start her university education in 2018 – when her two daughters were near to completing their own tertiary studies. She had worked in early learning centres for many years but, while studying towards a degree in Early Childhood Education, she quickly discovered a thirst for learning that she had never fully realised she had, flying through her courses with “A” passes.
Dorothea was the deserving winner of the 2018 Acorn Foundation Eva Trowbridge scholarship at the University of Waikato, and is hugely excited by the learning opportunities ahead of her.
