Give together. Create lasting impact.
Employee Giving gives your team a simple way to support the community, collectively and consistently.
Through payroll giving, employees choose to donate a small portion of their pay each cycle. These regular contributions are combined into a shared fund, helping your workplace make a greater collective impact than individual donations could alone.
With support from Acorn, your team can choose how the fund is distributed, whether that’s supporting local charities, specific causes, or areas of need across the Western Bay of Plenty.
Because donations are made through payroll, employees receive an immediate 33% tax credit. This means giving is easy, effective, and built into the way people already get paid.

Why it works
Employee Giving makes generosity part of your workplace culture, not just something that happens occasionally.
It gives everyone in your team the opportunity to contribute in a way that feels manageable. Over time, small regular donations add up, creating a shared source of funding that can support local organisations, causes and community needs. With Acorn’s local knowledge and support, your workplace can give with confidence, knowing your generosity is helping create real and lasting impact across the Western Bay of Plenty.

Benefits of payroll giving with Acorn
1. Trusted and secure giving
When you give through Acorn, you can feel confident your donation is making a real difference. We carry out due diligence on the organisations we support, ensuring funds are distributed responsibly and reach the people and communities they’re intended to help. It’s giving with confidence, knowing your contribution is in safe hands.
2. Local knowledge, better decisions
You don’t have to figure it all out on your own. Our team has deep knowledge of the Western Bay of Plenty community and the challenges and opportunities within it. We can help guide your giving, identify where support is needed most, and connect your team with causes that align with what matters to you.
3. Immediate tax benefit
Payroll giving makes donating easy, and more effective. In New Zealand, donations made through payroll giving receive an immediate 33% tax credit. That means if an employee donates $10 per pay, it only costs them $6.67, with the benefit applied straight away, no need to claim it back later.
4. Simple, inclusive, and built to grow
Employee Giving is designed to be easy for everyone to take part in. Small, regular contributions through payroll quickly add up, making it accessible for staff at all levels. Over time, these contributions combine to create meaningful, lasting impact, turning everyday giving into something much bigger.
The impact of collective giving
Craigs Investment Partners have chosen to do Combined Corporate Giving — a mix of building up an endowment fund and immediate ‘pass-through’ giving to charities each year. Craigs employees elect to participate in the Workplace Giving programme, with employee payroll contributions matched by Craigs up to $500 per year, per employee. The programme now has over 300 employees contributing.
Now in its sixth year, Craigs Workplace Giving has collectively donated $944,000 to charities nationwide.
