1. Create your Giving Circle

Start by getting a group of friends, family, colleagues or like-minded people together. Acorn will help you set up your Giving Circle and talk you through how it works.

Most members choose to give a regular monthly amount, such as $50 a month, but your group can decide what feels right. Donations are pooled together through Acorn to create a shared fund.

2. Learn about local causes

Members can nominate local charities or causes they care about, or Acorn can help introduce your group to organisations doing meaningful work across the Western Bay of Plenty.

This gives your Giving Circle the chance to learn more about local needs, hear about different areas of impact, and understand where your support could make a difference.

3. Decide together

Your Giving Circle meets once or twice a year to talk through the options and decide where the funding should go.

Your group might choose to support one charity, or split the funding between several organisations. The decision is made collectively, so everyone has a voice in where the giving goes.

4. See your impact

After your funding has been distributed, Acorn will help keep your group updated on how your donations are being used.
