Craigs has served as Acorn’s fund manager since the beginning, delivering a 9% average return over the past 10 years. As Acorn’s fund has grown, so has the support we’ve received from Craigs, with the establishment in 2021 of the Specialised Wealth Advisory team.
Acorn is part of a network of 18 Community Foundations that have been growing across Aotearoa New Zealand since 2003.
Through our national body, Community Foundations of Aotearoa New Zealand, we’re all working to make a lasting difference in our local communities. Our aim is for every New Zealander to be able to affect lasting change wherever their home or heart may be.

BayTrust, TECT, Tauranga City Council and Western Bay of Plenty Regional Council
Acorn works closely with BayTrust and TECT to ensure we are supporting the Western Bay of Plenty in the best way we possibly can. It is important for us to collaborate often as we are all trying to achieve a similar goal with our funding.
In 2022, the Tauranga Western Bay Community Event Fund was established by Acorn Foundation, Bay Trust, Tauranga City Council, TECT Community Trust and Western Bay of Plenty District Council. The fund provides a streamlined approach to the support of community events taking place in the region.
Acorn Foundation, Bay Trust, Tauranga City Council and TECT worked together on the 2023 edition of ‘Whakahou Taketake Vital Update – Tauranga.’ This research project centred on understanding the people and communities in Tauranga, and what their needs, wants and aspirations are for their neighbourhoods and the wider city.
Acorn will continue to collaborate with local funders and councils to ensure that together, we are building a thriving Western Bay of Plenty.
