Scholarship: Tauranga Performing Arts Award Winner Announced
In mid-July, Angus Simmons was awarded the $1,500 first prize in the singing category at the Tauranga Performing Arts Competitions. It was not the first time Angus has won the Acorn Foundation Chris Tustain Prize – he also won in 2018 and, with him to celebrate his win, was his wife Anna who has also been awarded this prize on two previous occasions.
It’s a wonderful achievement for this newly married couple, who plan to move to Berlin later this year, to further their music careers. Celebrating their win was Acorn donor Chris Tustain, whose generosity allows for this generous prize to be awarded each year.
