Adventure Specialties understands young people. Working alongside schools and other community partners for over 35 years, they are using outdoor adventure activities to facilitate growth, development and leadership in rangatahi and whanau.

Acorn Foundation distributions has enabled Adventure Specialties Trust to pilot The Journey Youth Development Expedition Programme with boys from Papamoa College. The Journey is aimed at young people who are disengaged from their education and aims to be a catalyst for change in their lives. Through adventure activities, group discussions, leadership opportunities, teamwork and perseverance these young men will increase in self-efficacy, self-esteem and pride as they gain skills and mastery in fun, adventurous and challenging outdoor activities.
