Joshua Tingey Memorial Fund

For the Joshua Tingey Memorial Fund, this dependable structure means the fund will deliver reliable income year after year. That stability enables the fund to support youth development in the Western Bay of Plenty region with foresight and confidence, enabling initiatives, programmes or scholarships that could not rely solely on one-off donations.

Josh was tragically taken in February 2018 doing what he loved - paragliding off Mount Maunganui. At the time of his death Josh had just become a registered surveyor and was engaged to marry his long-time partner Bex Wotton. He lived life to the full, enjoying sports such as tennis and competitive hockey, dirt bike riding, paragliding, fishing and water and snow skiing.

The Tingey and Wotton Families established a memorial fund for Josh through the Acorn Foundation to celebrate the 28 year old’s legacy of living life, having fun, following his passions and showing kindness and caring for others.

The annual distribution goes to support youth in our community. Currently, Josh’s distribution is used to support the Youth Encounter Charity. Josh supported this charity and had ridden at many of their fundraising events.
