Momenta Live the Life You Love Award

The award is available to any person over the age of 13 years, with a disability living in the Western Bay of Plenty or Eastern Bay of Plenty. While the award is intended primarily for individuals, small groups (such as duets, trios, or quartets) will be considered eligible in applying for a common project or objective.
What can I use the award for?
We don’t want to have strict limitations; we want to know about your idea. We want you to think boldly, to be daring and courageous in achieving your best life.
2025 is the first year of the Momenta Live the Life You Love Award and will have a fund of $10,000 available.
You can apply for the full fund or a partial amount.
How do I apply?
Applications open on 10 April 2025. Applications can be in any format that works for you; in writing, in a voice recording or send us a video. All you need to do is make sure your application fits all of the criteria below, and answers all of the questions asked; it makes the assessment process that much easier!

Step 1 – Register yourself as an individual online. This information will include your contact details and bank account details. Register HERE.
Step 2 – Apply for the Momenta Award. As of 9am 10 April you will be able to access the application form for the Momenta Award. This is where you will outline your project and the funding required. You will have the option to complete the application directly in the portal or upload a video or audio file. The application will automatically save as you progress and you will be prompted to complete and submit the application leading up to the close date to ensure you don’t forget the final steps. About Paul J Curry:
Paul J Curry is a man who personifies living a life you love. A spinal cord injury at the age of 19 left Paul a paraplegic, but he was determined and committed to experiencing all that life has to offer, and what an amazing life he is living.
Paul has always been focused on challenging himself, to step outside of his comfort zone and succeed physically, academically, spiritually and in his career.
And succeed he has; from representing New Zealand at the Commonwealth Paraplegic Games, to para rowing Lake Wakatipu, the Cook Straight, and the English Chanel. Paul has experienced so many amazing life adventures.
Paul is an amazing encourager of people to think big, to have a goal and chase it down, to step out of their comfort zones and go after a life they love. For people with disability having the opportunity to achieve an audacious goal can be a financial challenge, so we would like to offer a little extra financial assistance to make your goal a reality.
