Celebrating the advisers who help local generosity grow
A conversation about a will can also be a conversation about the future of our community. For many people, it’s an opportunity to consider the causes they care about and the difference they would like to make for generations to come.
Recently, Acorn Foundation welcomed more than 60 lawyers and professional advisers from firms across the Western Bay of Plenty to Luxe Cinemas Tauranga for a movie night. It was our way of saying thank you for the vital role they play in helping clients explore their wishes to give back.

Professional advisers are often part of some of life’s most important conversations. By raising the possibility of leaving a gift in a will, they can help clients discover different ways to support their community, alongside providing for the people closest to them.
These conversations give people space to think about what matters to them, ask questions and understand their options. A simple question from a trusted adviser can be the beginning of a lasting contribution to the place they call home.
The evening was also a welcome chance to bring colleagues from across the region together. We always value having everyone in the same room, connecting and sharing how they are approaching giving conversations with their clients. There is much to learn from one another’s experiences.

Alongside the conversation, there was time to relax and enjoy a movie together—a small thank you for work that can have an enduring impact.
To everyone who joined us, and to all the advisers who make giving back part of the conversation with their clients: thank you. We appreciate your care, your expertise and the role you play in helping generosity grow across the Western Bay of Plenty.
