Acorn’s AGM has become a highlight of the year for people across our community. A chance to catch up, enjoy good food and hear about the incredible things happening in the Western Bay of Plenty.

On Monday 16 November, we’ll gather at Toi Tauranga Art Gallery to reflect on the year and celebrate the generosity that makes this work possible. Alongside updates from our Board, you’ll hear directly from community organisations and scholarship recipients about their work, their journeys and what comes next.

Meet some of this year’s speakers

  • Emma — Rotoehu Ecological Trust
Emma will share the work being done to protect kōkako and restore native forest, highlighting the volunteers and conservation partners making it happen. Her recent presentation at our Te Puke distributions event sparked plenty of conversation, and we’re excited to bring that story to more of our community.

  • Darren Wagstaff — Kenneth Perszyk Snr Adult Learner Scholarship recipient
Darren will share his journey back into education and his passion for helping others through sport. Now pursuing a Bachelor in Sport, he hopes to become a teacher and inspire the next generation to reach their potential.

There’s more to come! We’ll be adding further recipient speakers and entertainment details as they’re confirmed, so keep an eye on this page as the programme takes shape.
