Vital Impact Fund

You don't need to be a current Acorn donor, or have your own fund set up, to support your community.

We recognise not everyone is ready to set up an endowment fund but are still passionate about supporting your community when you can.  The Acorn Vital Impact Fund might be the perfect vehicle for your age and stage of life.

This fund distributes to local WBOP organisations who are supporting the most pressing issues highlighted in the 2018 Vital Signs Report.  The 2020 distribution from this Vital Impact Fund was made to Sustainability Options, Grief Support Services, KidsCan Charitable Trust and St Peter's House, while the 2019 distributions went to Good Neighbour and The Tauranga Community Housing Trust.  Previous distributions have included: Awhina House, Youth Development Trust, Tauranga Women's Collective, Katikati Maori Wardens and Volunteering BOP.

One-off or regular donations can be made into the Acorn Vital Impact Fund at any time.

If you would like to make a donation to the community through the Acorn Vital Impact Fund, you can do so by visiting the 'Donate Now' page and selecting "Acorn Foundation Vital Impact Fund' from the drawdown menu via credit card, or by referencing "Vital Impact Fund' via internet banking.

The Acorn Vital Impact Fund is also available to eligible TECT consumers

Are you a Trustpower customer and in a position to consider putting your TECT rebate to work in our community? The Acorn Foundation Vital Impact Fund lets you do just that. The fund invests your donation, and interest earned from this investment is distributed each year to deserving community organisations – so your donation keeps growing and giving forever. And you’ll even be able to get back—with a donation receipt from Acorn Foundation you can claim a 33.3% tax credit. It feels good to give, but its feels better to give forever. Find out more here.
