Kidz Need Dadz

Kidz Need Dadz work to ensure that kids have two loving and supportive parents in their lives – whether the family all live under the same roof or not.

Kidz Need Dadz help dads play an active part in their kids’ lives. As well as supporting fathers, they educate the broader community about the need for dads to be involved with their children. The weekly support groups help dads who are feeling the strain emotionally or financially; are suffering from the loss of a relationship; feel depressed; are worried about losing their children; or believe it’s just too hard to stay involved.

The organisation began in Tauranga in 2002 and now offers services across the Bay of Plenty and the greater Wellington region. From parenting courses, to organising events, to helping with legal advice, mentoring and support groups.

Kidz Need Dadz has received over $30,000 in Acorn Foundation funding during the past six years with donations from the following funds: Joan Chappell-Mathias, Ken & Irene Holdaway, Colin Toop, Bob Suthelrand, Tga Police CIB Trust, and The Tindall Foundation.
