Male Survivors BOP
Male Survivors BOP arrived in the Western BOP in mid 2019, having recognised a serious need for services in this area whilst operating in the Waikato. They are a member organisation of Male Survivors Aotearoa.
1 in 6 New Zealand males experience sexual abuse as young people.
Male Survivors BOP was established to support these survivors of trauma and sexual abuse. They provide peer support, counselling and social services throughout the Bay of Plenty, as well as providing a sustainable network of appropriate high-quality support services.
“We here at Male Survivors are so honoured to be a part of the healing and helping team in Tauranga. The Acorn foundation is such a vital part of our organisation getting started in this area. You have enabled us to do what we do best: guide boys and men through difficult times in their lives, letting them know they are not alone.”
In 2019, the organisation received funding from the J Chappell-Mathias, A Simpson and B Sutherland Funds.
