Philips Search & Rescue Trust
Philips Search and Rescue Trust (PSRT) is New Zealand’s largest rescue helicopter trust, operating rescue helicopters throughout the central North Island.
Dispatched through the 111-call system, the rapid response rescue helicopters bring life-saving equipment, rescue personnel and trauma-trained medics directly to the patient.
The Acorn Foundation annual distributions are vital to the Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter in our region. This service is only partially government funded, so community organisations are vital to assist in providing the free, reliable emergency service 24/7.
Acorn's support contributes to the Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter being airborne in 10 minutes and, in a life or death situation, this speed and agility can make all the difference. The timely assistance that the rescue helicopter provide can reduce disability and improve survival – the sooner medical treatment begins, the greater chance of patient recovery.
In 2019, Philips Search & Rescue Trust received funding from the K&R Hunt, A Neilson and P&D van Loghem funds, plus another anonymous donor.
